Every day, 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM
La Jolla is the far end of our coast run, and we make the drive most weeks. If you need a car locksmith in La Jolla, we come to the metered space in the Village, the beach lot at the Shores, the parking structure at UC San Diego, or the valet stand at your hotel, and we do the whole job at the car. Keys are cut and programmed on site. Because it is our farthest regular area, we give you an honest arrival window when you call, and a price before we leave.
The Village packs a lot of cars into a few blocks around Prospect Street and Girard Avenue, and the parking is metered, tight and short on time. Down the hill, La Jolla Shores and Windansea put keys in the sand and fobs in the water. Up on the mesa, students and staff at UC San Diego lock keys in cars in the parking structures, and UTC shoppers walk back to a car that will not open. We carry what it takes for all of it.
La Jolla for us runs from Bird Rock up the coast to Torrey Pines, and inland to UTC and the university. The Village sits on the bluff above the Cove, with Prospect Street and Girard Avenue at its center and the hotels along the water. La Jolla Shores lies below it, with the beach lot and the Scripps pier. Windansea and Bird Rock line La Jolla Boulevard to the south. UC San Diego and the Torrey Pines mesa sit above, and UTC fills the corner at Genesee Avenue and La Jolla Village Drive. We work at meters, in beach lots, campus structures, mall garages and hotel valet stands.
The towels are back in the trunk, the lid is down, and the key is under them. The lot by Kellogg Park is full and cars are waiting for your space, which does not help. We open the car in the lot without touching the paint, and if you moved to a side street behind the beach, tell us the cross street.
A swim from the Cove steps with the fob in a pocket, and by the walk back up to Prospect Street it is done. The car is at a meter or in one of the small lots off Coast Boulevard. We program a new fob at the car and, on most models, erase the old one so the drowned fob cannot be used if it turns up.
A shared car in a campus lot or an apartment garage off Nobel Drive, one chipped key, and three people who need it on different days. We cut and program a second key at the space, and the roommate with the early lab keeps it. Bring your ID and the registration; the whole visit happens at the car.
In the Village, give us the block of Prospect or Girard and the side of the street; the meters are short, so stay with the car. At the Shores, say whether you are in the beach lot or on a street behind it. At UC San Diego, the parking structure name and the level are enough, and at UTC the garage and the store entrance. At the hotels we meet you at the valet stand. Along Neptune Place and La Jolla Boulevard, give us a cross street. We text when we are on La Jolla Parkway.
The places locals call from most, and what usually goes wrong there.
La Jolla calls are mostly car lockouts in the Village and the beach lots, car key replacement for keys lost in the sand at the Shores, and key fob programming after a fob went in the water at the Cove. We program transponder keys for cars whose only key was cut but never chipped, and cut spare keys for households and students who share one car.
